Opening of Canada's 44th Parliament
As Canada’s 44th Parliament opened this week, it was an honour to officially take my seat as the Member of Parliament for Battlefords-Lloydminster. Standing up for families, our communities and our local economy has always been and continues to be my priority. It is an absolute privilege to serve as your representative in Parliament and I will continue to do my utmost to deliver on those priorities and represent the interests of my constituents.
After an election that the Prime Minister deemed ‘necessary’, he delayed the start of Parliament and now his Speech from the Throne disappoints those looking for a real plan to address the urgent issues impacting Canadians.
Instead of offering a plan to address the rising cost of living or to kickstart our economy, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s political priorities highlighted in the Throne Speech focus only on furthering his own ideological agenda.
As your Member of Parliament and member of the Official Opposition, I am ready to fight for your interests and to hold this Liberal government to account so that we can tackle the serious challenges this country is facing.
